Bangalore Metro which is also known as Namma Metro service will commence its operation from today which is Thursday 4 Pm and Kamal Nath,  Urban Development Minister will flag off the train.

Union Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi, central ministers belonging to Karnataka, including Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa, M. Veerappa Moily, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Japanese Ambassador Akitaka Saiki and a host of dignitaries, including lawmakers and officials will have their presence on the launch of the Bangalore Metro.

Bangalore Metro Timing :

Bangalore Metro will start sharply at  06:00 AM in the morning from both the direction and last train will stop at 10 PM at both the terminating and the starting station. The time can be increased by 11PM if required. The frequency of the train will be for every 10-15 minutes and it will again depend on the needs. This will also vary according to the peak time and the non peak time.

“We have invested about Rs.4,000 crore so far in the project, including Rs.360 crore on civil works. We will operate four trains of three coaches in both directions with 10-15 minutes frequency from morning till late night to make 45 trips to ferry about 1,000 commuters on each trip,” Sivasailam said.

Bangalore Metro Fares :

The minimum fare of the Bangalore Metro will be Rs.10 and the maximum price for the Bangalore Metro will be Rs.15.

Bangalore Metro Smart Cards :

The Bangalore Metro has four kinds of smart cards namely Varshik, Sanchar, Saral and Saraag.

Varshik – Available for Rs.100 can be recharged fro Rs.50 to Rs.1500 and the card has a validity of one year with a 15% discount on travel fares.
Sanchar - Based on number of trips and available in denominations of 10, 40, 50 and 100.
Saral - Priced at 70. It allows a day's travel in non-A/C buses of BMTC and the metro.
Saraag - Priced at 110. It allows a day's travel in BMTC A/C buses and the metro.

Bangalore Metro Speed :
Maximum Speed -  67.5 km/h on straight sections &  40.5 km/h on curves

Bangalore Metro Capacity :
The Namma Metro or the Bangalore Metro can hold upto 1,000 to 1,072 passengers.
