Canon EOS 5D is a SLR ( Single Lens Reflex ) which features 13-megapixel with full-frame sensor body and the Camera weighs about half the weight (2 lbs). The digital sensor of the Canon EOS 5D is of size 24x36mm and the frame is 35mm film.
The camera is capable of providing a high quality image in terms of noise and specifically in low light situations The ability to use very wide angle lenses.
Disadvantages :
As the camera sports a full-frame sensor when compared to a small-sensor digital SLR body is that, small-sensor cameras are capable of increasing the magnification of telephoto lenses. The small-sensor cameras are very useful in sports or bird photography.
This doesn't mean that camera's resolution is low. The image looks like it has been taken in a Canon 30D or Digital Rebel.
If you are very much interested in wide angles and have good sets of older Canon EOS lenses designed for film cameras, then Canon EOS 5D will be a good choice. The small sensor Canon bodies will turn the 20mm wide angle lens into a boring 30mm perspective but that is not the case with the Canon EOS 5D.
Canon EOS 5D is built in plastic but the body of the camera is very solid and the camera also looks very compact. Though the camera has noise, it is to quite to an extent and the Canon EOS 5D is extremely quiet in operation
Operating Speed
The Canon EOS 5D works instantly and does not delays in taking the next pictures and in displaying the images. The only thing which is an exception is that the if you are trying to take pictures very continuously at a rate that exceeds three photos per second.
This particular technique is used in sports photography where the cameraman would like to take so many pictures to get the right shot.
