A few years ago Microsoft tried to bring a lot of Windows Vista PC games back on the map. The company launched the Games for Windows Live initiative, but ultimately did not had very significant additional support for the platform. Now with Fable 3 for the PC as part of a new series of games for the PC, Microsoft will try to firmly hold its ground, with a solid Windows 7 OS.
The Games for Windows platform four years ago had an ailing PC gaming market, but because of lack of support from developers and publishers has never really become successful, everything seems to be going slow. Microsoft is doing all that is necessary to gain what it lost. After all, there is no other good competition for Microsoft, Mac computers can never take over the gaming market for sure.
It was therefore striking, a few weeks ago when Microsoft announced Fable 3 for PC. Game blog Kotaku did get an internal Microsoft memo. It confirmed that this launch is part of a larger initiative to put PC gaming back on the map. With a great boom in the playstation and the Xbox games, microsoft certainly have to do something to hold its ground firmly. Even though Xbox is by Microsoft, its still a threat to the over all PC market, since more and more people have started to move towards Xbox gaming. Only time will tell. Because console gaming is usually considered expensive and locks the customer to the company. And some PC gamers tell it in a funny way, 'I don't like Console games because, of two reasons, 1. A and 2.B', and PCs are far more superior when compared to console games when it comes to Graphics and better customization of the control of the game.
