Blog Redirecting to a country-specific URL
blogger-logo
Blogger, which is one of the major free platform for bloggers, owned by Google, the giant search engine, changed its URL to country specific. If you are blog URL is blogname.blogspot.com, it will be automatically routed to blogname.blogspot.in. With change in terms and policies, with the impact of SOPA & PIPA, major sites decided to limit the impact of the censored content. Readers will be directed to the country specific domain names, when the blog is recognized as foreign, which is been determined by the IP address.

Why?
By changing the URLs to ccTLD (Country code top-level domain), it will be easy for the search engines  to remove contents and can be managed on per country basis. The contents which are removed, will only be removed from the ccTLD.

Will this affect SEO?
Crawlers will be looking up for duplicate contents at different domain levels and if the duplicate content is found, it will affect the SEO of the site.
