Leander Paes and Elena Vesnina stunned top ranked Belarusian-American pair Max Mirnyi and Liezel Huber in the quarterfinals match of the French Open 2012. The Indo-Russian pair defeated the top seeded players 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 to reach the mixed-doubles semifinals.

Leander Paes and Elena Vesnina, who lost the first set 4-6 came back strongly to post a thrilling victory over the top seeded duo in the match which lasted for 91 minutes.

The fifth seeds will face the Polish-Mexican pair Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and  Mexican Santiago Gonzalez in the semifinals. On the other hand Indian pair Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi made it to the last four by beating the second seeded pair Kveta Peschke and Mike Bryan in straight sets.

With the first and second seeded pair knocked out of the tournament, Indian tennis stars have bright chances to win the French Open 2012 Grand Slam title this year.
