Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza have progressed to the semifinals of the French Open after defeating the second seeded Kveta Peschke and Mike Bryan pair. The seventh seeded Indian pair kept the hopes alive for their second Grand Slam title of their career by defeating the second seeds Czech-American pair 6-2 6-3 in their quarter-finals match.
The Indian pair were on top of their game as they broke the four of their five break-point opportunities and four breakpoints which they faced from the Czech-American pair.
Bhupathi and Sania will face the winning pair of the another quarterfinals fixture containing Galina Voskoboeva/Daniele Bracciali and Nuria Llagostera/Oliver Marach. It is to be noted that Sania and Mahesh Bhupathi have won the 2010 Australian Open.
Another Indian hope at the French Open is Leander Paes, who along with his Russian partner Elena Vesnina will take on top seeded Liezel Huber and Max Mirnyi in the last-eight contest.
