Rafael Nadal reserved his place in the semifinals of the French Open 2012 Grand Slam by defeating fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.

Nadal won in straight sets 7-6 (7/4), 6-2, 6-3 against Almagro and extended his winning record to 8-0 against his countryman.

However, Nadal did not reach the match point comfortably as he has did it in the previous matches played against Almagro. Nadal was dominant in the first set which reached the tie-break.

The second and third set had Rafael Nadal taking control of the game with confident serves and backhands.
