The 28-year-old Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, who played a crucial role in Spain's Euro title victory has been named as the player of Euro 2012 by UEFA's technical committee. Iniesta has played an integral part in Spain's victory in the FIFA World Cup too.

Spain have won three international major championships including two UEFA Euro Cup and the FIFA World Cup consecutively. Spain proved their dominance by beating Italy 4-0 in the finals.

From the teams which did not make it to the semi-finals Steven Gerrard and Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic were the two players who were chosen for the title.
