Euro 2012 saw another emphatic football play in the semi-finals encounter between Italy and formidable Germany. Germany who maintained a 100 percent winning record were thrashed out by Mario Balotelli's double strike.
Mario Balotelli scored the first goal in the 20th minute of the match from Antonio Cassano's perfect cross and doubled the lead in the 36th minute from Riccardo Montolivo's through ball, thereby thrashing Germany's confidence in the first half.
Lacking in confidence Germany's attacking game disappeared and Italy were on top of the second half too. Consolation goal for Germany came in the form of penalty which was scored by Mesut Ozil after Federico Balzaretti's handball in the box.
Italy will now face defending European champions Spain in Kiev in the finals.
