Formula 1 boss, Bernie Ecclestone has demanded the Australian Grand Prix to make the necessary changes for accommodating a night race with the a time period of three years. Bernie insists in changing the race timing in order to fit into the European market.
According to Bernie, the Australian GP is the least in turning the race event to a grand success commercially. However, the 81-year old F1 boss is considering on extending the contract with the organizers of Australian GP after its expiry in the year 2015.
The commercial rights holder of Formula 1 has said that there are a number of venues ready to host the sport which has more capability than Melbourne in achieving big commercial success.
'We have other races ready to take the place of Australia, which we don't want to happen,' Ecclestone said. 'But it would be wrong of me to have to report to our board: 'Terribly sorry about this but we have to walk away from wherever to retain Australia,'' he added
As the F1 race has brought more financial strain over the region, Bernie Ecclestone's words might not reflect in drastic preparation changes of the Melbourne track.
