The likes of Indian players in the inaugural edition of the Sri lanka Premier League has raised the expectation levels of the event to a new height. Reports say that 15 Indian youngsters including the latest IPL finds will be playing for different Sri Lankan Premier League Franchises from July 15 onwards. List of Indian Players in Sri Lankan Premier League 2011:The Franchises of Sri Lankan Premier League has signed most of the local talents in the IPL seasons held so far. Some of the Indian players, who have been selected for the India Vs West Indies ODI tour 2011 are also on board. Munaf Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar, who are in the Team Indian ODI and T20 squad for the upcoming West Indies are among those who have signed the contract with the SLPL Franchises. Apart from the players in the India ODI squad, Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Manish Pandey, Manoj Tiwary, Paul Valthaty, Ravindra Jadeja, Saurabh Tiwary, Umesh Yadav have been selected at the auction of Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL). Availability of Indian Players in Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) 2011: The Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) will begin from July 19 and will go on till 4th of August, 2011. India will be beginning the West Indies tour 2011 with a T 20 match on June 4, at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. 5 One day Internationals (ODIs) will closely follow from June 6th to July 16th. After the ODI matches India will be playing West Indies in three-matches test series which will be held from June 20th to July 10th. So, Munaf Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar will be available for the Sri Lanka Premier League if they don't make up to the Test team squad which will be released by the BCCI at the end of ODI matches. The 7 franchises will be playing one match against the other in the league stages leading to a total of 24 matches including two semifinals and a final match. The Sri Lankan Cricket board has confirmed the number of matches to be played, but has not released the fixtures of Sri Lankan Premier League and the players list too. |
