Dravid confident of Ponting's comeback

Ricky-Ponting-Rahul-Dravid

India's batting legend Rahul Dravid is of the view that the Tasmanian right hand batsman Ricky Ponting, who is presently out of form will be a threat to India if he makes a comeback in the upcoming four-match test series.

Ricky Ponting hasn't been among the runs in the recent past. In the South African test series and home test series with New Zealand Ponting failed to make considerable contribution which was one of the main reason for the team's failure.

Ponting's poorest performance was against Indian during 2010 October visit. Ponting just managed to score 224 runs at an average of 56 in a two-Test series. He hasn't scored a century in his previous 32 innings.

Dravid said that despite of his poor form Ponting is one of the most feared batsman in test cricket format. Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Jacques Kallis and Ponting are the only four players who have crossed the 12,000 run mark in test cricket.

Dravid, who is the senior most batsman playing test cricket denied suggestions that Ponting is too old to get back his striking form in the lengthiest form of the game.
