A good news for Indian fans ahead of boxer Mary Kom's much expected semifinals is that, Tintu Luka of Indian has qualified for the Women's 800m semi-finals at the London Olympics.

Tinu Luka finished third in the quarterfinals behind Russia's Mariya Savinova with a clock time of 2:01.75. Mariya Savinova clocked 2:01.56 and another qualifier Schmidt Alice from USA clocked 2:01.65.

The semifinals event for the women's 800m is scheduled on the 9th of August, 19:30 local time. Alysia Johnson Montano of USA, Caster Semenya of South Africa and Halima Hachlaf from Morocco qualified for the next round.
