Dam 99 which is about to get released in the theaters in India on the 25th of November is directed by Sohan Roy.

The movie is having a lot of protests for the content of the film. Supposedly the film has a lot of resemblance on the Mullai Periyar Dam issue, which leads to a lot of fight between Kerala and Tamilnadu state and Tamilians led by Director Seeman are protesting against the film's release.

But the director insists that the film is a real life story about a dam in China and the film is not where controversial about the people in India or shows Tamil people in bad light.

The Director had said in his press release, “DAM999 is completely a true story about the disaster caused by the DAM in the 1975 at Banqiuo a place in china which killed 2, 50,000 people. DAM 999 is film purely based on how this tragic disaster caused by the DAM swallowing many people ‘s lives it has got nothing to do with any Dam’s in India or especially in Tamilnadu.

The film is a Indo-Hollywood movie to be released in 3D, produced by Biz TV Network and distributed by Warner Bros. The film is getting released in Tamil, Hindi, English, Malayalam, Telugu.
