Director Bala's Avan Ivan is one of the highly anticipated movies of 2011. Similar to Ajith's Mankatha, Surya's Ezham Arivu and Jeeva's Ko and Rajinikanth's Rana, Avan Ivan has been closely watched by the media.

It was said that Avan Ivan will be released on April 14 (on Tamil New Year's day). Bala was the one who insisted the movie's release on April 14th which happens to be a Thursday. So the producers of Avan Ivan has decided to release it a week before ie. on April 8.

Avan Ivan is a out and out comedy movie which has Arya, Vishal, Janani Iyer and Madhusri in lead roles. Music has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and produced by Kalpathy S Agoram.
