Director Bala, the national award winner for ‘best director’ for his last film ‘Naan Kadavul’, has been making ‘Avan Ivan’ with actors Aarya and Vishal playing lead roles in it. In ‘Avan Ivan’, a Septuagenarian VIP makes his debut as villain. The person is quite well-known in filmy circles for the past forty years or so. With his contacts, the VIP could easily have debuted in films long back had he wanted to make a career in acting. He, however, didn’t want to act and was content doing what ha has been doing. He was cajoled into accepting the acting offer at Bala’s behest and request, it is reliably learnt. Known for making films with substance, Bala chose the VIP apparently due to his ‘different’ looks. Bala has also put to dust the unwritten rule that a villain should fight on par with the hero and should be physically over-powering. The person Bala has chosen to play the villain in the film hardly moves from his seat but has reportedly delivered a stunning performance, if Unit sources are to be believed. “As and when the film releases, I’m sure to get ‘noticed’ again,” claims the VIP, who is none other than Chidambaram Chettiyar, the owner of Kamala Cinemas in Vadapalani in Chennai! |
