Superstar Rajinikanth has a way of doing things. Thanks to his unique and unmatched style of doing things, even a small deed of his becomes a super-special one for those concerned and others in more ways than one. While his on-screen presence is legendary, the effect of his voice can’t be under-estimated either. It’s a known fact that one of Rajinikanth’s greatest asset is his voice, which delivers his dialogues in an ‘unique’ manner. Even as efforts are afoot to release the Hindi and Telugu versions of Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ to coincide with the release of the Tamil version in the third/fourth week of September, Rajinikanth felt that he wouldn’t have done justice to his character(s) in the film if he allowed the voice of someone else to dub for him in Hindi and Telugu. In order to ensure that the role of the scientist, which he plays for the first time in his career, has its full effect on the audience, Rajinikanth has reportedly decided to dub in his own voice in the Telugu and Hindi versions as well. The ‘magic man’, that Rajinikanth is fondly referred to in filmy circles, is well aware of the effect of his voice on the audience. This can be compared to the effect of Amitabh Bachchan’s baritone voice that has endeared him to the viewers for so long. Rajinikanth’s decision to lend his voice to his character(s) would also give the feeling to the Hindi and Telugu audience that it’s not a dubbed film but a original Hindi/Telugu film. Shankar was mighty pleased when Rajinikanth told him about his willingness to dub in his own voice for his characters in the Hindi and Telugu versions. Tailpiece: Lyricist Vairamuthu has reportedly asked Rajinikanth to allow him to chronicle the life and times of his journey from that of a bus conductor to an unmatched, unparallel and unquestionable superstar of Tamil films. Rajinikanth, though not averse to the idea, has reportedly told the lyricist to ‘wait’ for some more time! |
