Malayalis Mohanlal, Priyadarshan pairs up again for a Hindi film ,after doing 36 odd Malayalm movies together!
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who has won the Padma Shri award and was granted the rank of honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army in 2009, which was first time in the history of Indian cinema, also gains international fame through his movie Nair-San, where he is being cast oppsite Jackie Chan.

The finest actor, Mohanlal had his traditional ‘Onam Sadya’ on the Thiru Onam festival, at a Mumbai five star hotel, as he was shooting in the city for his Kandahar. Mohanlal had a surprise guest as good friend and director Priyadarshan joined him for lunch. Over a sumptuous special vegetarian meal, Priyadarshan narrated the one-line story of his under-production untitled Hindi film which he plans to shoot in London from September.

Both being Malayali's and has worked together in many Malayalam movies before and now again for his Hindi movie, Priyadarshan wanted Mohanlal to play the role of an investigative cop in the film. After hearing the story, the Malayalam superstar agreed to do it.

After the Akshay Kumar Trish starrer Khatta Meetha, Priyadarshan has moved to his next Hindi project. The multi-starrer, which was earlier titled Bullet Train, features Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Kunal Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut and Sameera Reddy. Says Priyadarshan, “I have done 36 films with Mohanlal in Malayalam and I consider him as one of the finest actors in contemporary world cinema. He will be playing the role of an investigative British police officer of Indian origin who specialize in terrorism-related issues. I think Mohanlal is a complete actor and suits my script.”

This will be Mohanlal’s third film in Hindi, after making a sensational debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s Company where he played a cop. Later, he did Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag in which he once again played a police inspector. It will be the third time Mohanlal will be playing a cop in Hindi films and the second time he’s doing a Palakkad-born Nair character. Mohanlal Vishwanathan Nair, who is commonly called Mohanlal, is also doing another bio-pic, Indo-Japanese historical movie, which again has Mohanlal playing the role of Ayyappan Pillai Madhavan Nair in Nair-San (Dauntless:Force-A).

Director Priyadarshan further says that, “The film currently titled The Bullet Train, is going to be an entertaining and rocking thriller with three of the finest actors, Anil, Ajay and Mohanlal, coming together. I’m also trying to rope in Vidya Balan to make it a mega multi-starrer.” Priyadarshan had earier worked with Vidhya Balan in Bhool Bhulaiya, who also shares the Palakad Malayali background. Guess the team who shares the similar bond, will make a hit combo!
