Veteran cinematographer Ashok Mehta passed away at the age of 66 on the 15th of August, 2012. He was suffering from lung cancer which was detected early this year.

The last rites for the ace cinematographer were performed at Shastri Nagar crematorium in Santa Cruz, a western suburb of Mumbai.

Shahrukh Khan, Arjun Rampal, Manisha Koirala, Mehr Jesia, Farah Khan, Subash Ghai, Danny Denzongpa, Priyanka Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Boney Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Sanjay Kapoor, Dia Mirza were seen at the funeral ceremony.
