Vijay's upcoming action-thriller film 'Thuppakki' has encountered a problem with the title which has resulted in a stay order on the release of the film. The court has passed an intermediate ban on 'Thuppakki' based on the issue raised by Ravi Devan.

Ravi Devan who is directing a film under the title 'Kalla Thuppakki' has filed a petition in the court stating that there are chances for people to get confused between the titles as they are quite similar. Moreover, Ravi Devan has registered the title in 2009, way before Murugadoss did it.

Now the court has delivered a stay order to producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu stating that the film should not be released until the 16th of July, however a clear judgment is still pending. The court has also demanded a clear explanation from the makers and until then Thuppakki cannot be used as the title for the film. Only time has to tell the whether the film would get a title change or not.
