|DSK-Hyosung to enter 125cc market in India|
Hyosung split its collaboration with Garware and joined hands with DSK (DS Kulkarni Group) which took over the Korean bike makers Indian operations. Immediately after the DSK-Hyosung collaboration, the GT250R sportsbike was launched into the Indian market.
Hyosung's other models GT650R, GT650N and ST7 have spent some time in India, but none of them are volume pullers for the Korean automobile company. Many of the bike manufacturers have started off from the entry level segment and have entered the premium segment gradually. However, Hyosung is following the reverse route here.
Hyosung-DSK is currently planning to set up an assembly plant in India and there are chance for the company to begin assembling a bike falling under 125cc to 150cc segment. If that is the case, Hyosung will be competing with some strong players like Honda, Bajaj, Hero Motor Corp and TVS.
Hyosung earlier planned a 125cc motorcycle named Kinetic GF125, during its collaboration with Kinetic Engineering Limited. The partnership also yielded the Kinetic GF170. However, both the bikes did not make the way to the showrooms due to various reasons. Let us see what Hyosung does with its new partner.
