Toyota Kirloskar India will launch the 2012 Toyota Camry on the 24th of August. The luxury sedan was first unveiled at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Toyota is launching the car for the third time with a change in Indian market. Toyota has lost its foothold in the upper D-segment and hence the all new Toyota Camry is expected to come with a higher price tag.

The latest version of the Camry sold in Japanese market are hybrid variants. The Indian version of the Camry will be powered by a 2.5-Liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-Valve Dual VVT-i engine which generates 178 hp at 6000 rpm and 230Nm of torque.

Toyota has made a few cosmetic changes in the exteriors. The curvy look has been replaced by sharp lines giving it a more executive car look. The all new 2012 Camry will be assembled at the company's Bidadi plant through completely knocked down units.

Honda Accord and Skoda Superb have been the major players in this segment in the recent times. Toyota might come up with an aggressive price tag to compete with these rivals.
