German luxury car giant Audi has launched the new flagship model Audi A8L with the 4.2 liter TDI turbo diesel engine at a price of INR 1.075 crores (ex-showroom Maharashtra). The L denotes a longer wheelbase and the A8L is the top among the range of cars being sold in India. Bookings for this car are currently open now.

Audi brings in the A8L luxury sedan though the CBU route. Already, Audi sells other variants of the A8 in India. The 4.2 Liter FSI turbo petrol engine, 6.3 Liter W12 turbo petrol engine and the 3 Liter TDI V6 turbo diesel engined versions are the other variants in offer. The 3 liter diesel engine is the volumes puller for the car competing with rivals Benz- S-Class and BMW 7 Series cars.

Engine :

The 4.2 Liter V8 TDI turbo diesel engine produces a peak power of 350 Bhp and outputs peak torque comes at 800 Nm. This much of torque is supplied to all the four wheels through a eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Audi A8L does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph.

The makers have made use of aluminium to reduce weight. Audi has left no stone unturned when it comes to the launch of a new model and advertisement strategies. Audi has been in close connection with Bollywood and has used celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Gul Panag, Yana Gupta and many other to promote their products. This time Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan will be the first one to get the new variant of Audi A8.
