The production of Mahindra XUV500 will be increased by 5000 UNITS BY AUGUST 2012! The company will be investing a sum of INR 100 crores or about 20 Million USD, to bump up production of this crossover.

The Mahindra XUV500 which is powered by 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine delivering a power-packed 140-bhp of power and with 330Nm of torque, features a 6-speed transmission and the 5th generation Variable Geometry Turbocharger which makes the XUV 500 from 0-60kmph in a mere 5.4 seconds.

Coming to the mileage part for the successful XUV 500, the XUV delivers up to 15.1 Kms per litre (ARAI-certified). With low engine revs and high torque, the Mahindra XUV 500 can handle heavy traffic at ease and the Dual Mass Flywheel ensures rattle-free driving pleasure. The fuel and the nature is conserved by the advanced Micro Hybrid Technology.

The bookings of the massive hit Mahindra XUV 500 was closed again after the bookings were reopened, as the bookings reached 5,900 in numbers in just two days. Revealing about the bookings, the company announced that the company's flagship model XUV has crossed booking over 25,000 in the second phase.

The second phase of booking of the Mahindra XUV 500 which was a 10 day period was closed on February 3, 2012. The bookings of the XUV 500 was available in 19 different cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh / Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nasik.
