|Hyundai's BMW 3 series rival by 2015 based on Genesis coupe platform|
South Korean car maker Hyundai is one of the tough contenders for mass car market players like, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, General Motors and Ford. The automobile giant has decided to take the next step ahead and foray into luxury car segment in which the company has not established it as a worthy contender.
The existing Genesis and Equus luxury sedans are far away from the standards of the luxury cars offered by Mercedes, Audi and BMW.
Hyundai's BMW 3 series rival :
In the year 2015, Hyundai has planned to launched a rival for the BMW 3 series, which will be based on the next generation Genesis coupe platform. The next generation Genesis coupe will make its debut in 2014 and the luxury car based on it will come after a year. The BMW 3 series rival from Hyundai has been codenamed the RK.
Considering the current sales performance of the recently launched F30 2012 BMW 3 Series sedan, the product has become a hit as the German car manufacturer offers more space, lighter model and the delight of good handling and performance. Hyundai can manage to build luxury sedans with top notch interiors matching the quality of the German car makers.
The major concern for Hyundai's R and D would be the perfection in handling and performance of the vehicle which the BMW 3 series is best at. If Hyundai manages to create such technology for delivering best in class handling and performance pleasure, it will be passed on to its other models like the Elantra Fluidic and Verna Fluidic.
The current portfolio of sedans from Hyundai holds good interiors and comfort features, while the riding comfort is the only thing missing in these sedans. If Hyundai gets the breakthrough in driving pleasure it will become one of the most class leading automobile player in the premium car segment.
