The Korean car maker's successful hatchback Hyundai i20 has been undergoing the mid makeover for quite sometime now. The car has hinted a launch somewhere this year by the testing rounds which its made across the country in the recent past. Now, the official images have been launched and more details have emerged about the car on the changes made in its looks and performance.

Hyundai i20 facelift launch in India :

Hyundai i20 facelift has been unveiled at the ongoing 2012 Geneva Motor show in Switzerland. The test rounds done in India has made the rumor mills work and but there has been no official confirmations on i20's launch date in India.

Hyundai i20 facelift engine (changes) :

The Korean car maker has taken steps to improve the performance capability of the car as well. During the revelation of the i20, Hyundai also announced a new 1.1-liter 3-cylinder U-II diesel engine which generates peak power of 75 PS and peak torque of 180Nm.

The engine has also been designed to deliver high fuel economy and less emissions. There will be an upgrade in the 1.4 liter diesel engine as well. These engines might be bolted under the i20 facelift's hood. Shape wise the front and rear bumpers have grown in size thereby making the facelift version measure 4 meters. The width, height and wheelbase of the car are unchanged.

Hyundai i20 facelift petrol engines :

The petrol offering from Hyundai for the i20 facelift will be in the form of 1.2 liter engine with 85PS power and 1.4 liter unit with 100PS of power. The 1.2 liter petrol engine will be mated with five-speed manual transmission. The 1.4 liter petrol unit might be paired with six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai i20 facelift diesel engines :

The diesel engine offering is expected to be the new 1.1 liter diesel engine. The 1.4 liter diesel unit will be upgraded to deliver more power of 90 PS.

Considering the transmission type for the diesel engines, both 1.1 liter and 1.4 liter engines will be mated with 6-speed gearbox for enhanced efficiency.

Hyundai i20 exterior changes :

The exterior department has worked on all possible areas like front and back lights, front and back bumper, new fog lights and a slightly reworked hexagonal grille upfront. The i20 facelift also has new LED lamps with daytime running lights. The rear portion has got new parking assist system too.

The Hyundai i20 facelift will be built in India and in Turkey plants for the Indian as well as European market as well.

Hyundai 120 interior changes :

It seems that Hyundai has taken more effort to bring in a whole new feel for the buyers from the inside. The seat trims have altered, and a  new grey color is on the offer The improved center console has been given a  black color and dashboard consist new features too.

The international model has got more features than the one which will be introduced in the Asian markets.

Rain-sensing wipers
Rear-view Camera display which will be displayed on the rear-view mirror

Some of thee features will be a part of the Indian model, and all of the above mentioned might be housed in the top variant.

Hyundai i20 driving experience :

Hyundai has worked on the suspension and other factors as well in order to improve the driving comfort of the buyers. The i20 facelift is built on a revised platform which contributes for a better dynamics.

The front and back suspension systems have also been reworked for the European model. All these factors will help in providing better response and comfort at speedy turns will be an apt fit for urban driving.

Hyundai i20 facelift price in India :

The new facelift version of the Hyundai i20 is expected to be priced between Rs 4.5 to 7.5 lakhs.
