| Nissan Ashok Leyland NV200 MPV in 2012 Indian Auto Expo |
Nissan Ashok Leyland NV200 MPV engine : NV200 MPV is powered by 1.5 Liter DCi engine which does the duties in the Nissan Micra hatchback and Nissan Sunny sedan. One would think of how this engine capacity might be enough for a MPV and the answer comes in the form of tuning. Nissan while placing the Micra hatchback's engine to the Sunny sedan a tuning was done to serve the requirements of the sedan. Likewise, the Nissan will tune to engine for the NV200 MPV which will produce 85 Bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Nissan Ashok Leyland NV200 MPV features : The NV200 is a 7 seat MPV which offers adequate room space for the front, middle and rear seat passengers. The gigantic figure of the NV200 might look like a commercial passenger vehicle like taxi, but it offers more comfort and features than a commercial passenger vehicle does. The third row of seats can be folded to increase the boot space considerably. The exterior shape looks like the Maruti Suzuki Versa, but in a more refined manner. The boxy rear portion offers enough room space for the later part of the vehicle, but the flat rear finish cuts off the boot space marginally. Competitors of NV200 MPV in India : Toyota Innova is the best selling MPV in India followed by the Mahindra Xylo. Apart from these two NV200 MPV will face competition from the much awaited facelift version of Toyota Innova. Moreover Maruti will be joining the MPV segment with its Ertiga which was earlier codenamed at RIII. It is expected that Nissan and Ashok Leyland might handle the distribution of the NV200 MPV by itself like it does for the Dost Mini Pick Up truck. The companies have planned to export 20 percent of its production from Indian units to neighboring Asian countries. |
