2012 BMW F30 3 Series:

Details on the newly developed BMW F30 3 Series have been unveiled by the German automaker and it is quite exciting to know that the series has more variants to offer. Right from dimensions to engine specifications, the 2012 BMW F30 3 Series has made effective changes.

The dimensions of the 2012 BMW F30 3 Series needs a special mention as it has grown bigger but not at the cost of making the vehicle more heavier. 2012 BMW F30 3 Series has increase in length by 93mm, and increased in width wheel base by nearly two inches. This doesn't mean that 2012 BMW F30 3 Series will weigh more instead it is 40kgs lesser than its previous version.

2012 BMW F30 3 Series engine:

The 2012 BMW F30 3 Series offers a list of variants. BMW has plans of launching more variants with less C)2 emissions after the initial launch. As of now, the German automaker has planned to launch the F30 BMW 3 Series with 3 engines, two petrol and one diesel engine.

BMW F30 3 Series engines:

328i 2.0-litre 4cyl twin-turbo petrol engine
335i 3.0-litre 6cyl twin-turbo petrol engine
320d 2.0-litre 4cyl turbo-charged diesel engine

The 328i 2.0-litre 4cyl twin-turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power of 245 Bhp and maximum torque of 350 Nm. The engine is capable of hitting a top speed of 155mph and performs the 0 to 100 Km sprint in just 5.9 seconds.

The 3.0-litre, 335i twin-turbo petrol engine with 6 cylinders gives out peak power of 306 Bhp ad 400 Nm of maximum torque. The 3 litre petrol engine sprints from 0 to 100 in just 5.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 155mph.

On the other hand, the 2lt 320d 4cyl diesel engine has a top speed of 146mph with capability to generate maximum power of 181bhp. The 320d diesel engine is also available in the form of EfficientDynamics with maximum power output of 161bhp.

Apart from these above mentioned models a 316D diesel engine, 318D diesel engine and a single turbo 2 liter 320i petrol engine variants are expected to be released soon.
