The public’s response to ‘Yogi’, the much-awaited film that stars director Ameer in the lead, has stunned the industry and the observers alike. The not-so-enthusiastic response from the members of the public to the film has not only surprised the above, it has also had its effect on the upcoming film ‘Kannabiran’, that was to star ‘Jeyam’ Ravi in the lead. Ameer was to direct this film.
Ameer, who is away to Dubai to attend the International Film Festival there, would be starting work on ‘Kannabiran’ once he returns to Chennai from Dubai. ‘Jeyam’ Ravi, though, is said to be having second thoughts about going through the film and has reportedly conveyed to Ameer that he could start working in his film only after he finished Prabhudeva’s film. Ameer doesn’t like it and is adamant as he feels that since he is the senior, Ravi should first oblige his request to do ‘Kannabiran’ first before starting work of Prabhudeva’s film. Ameer reportedly rang up Prabhudeva to ask him to postpone his project starring Ravi to which Prabhudeva put the ball back in his court by replying that it would be better if he (Ameer) spoke directly to Ravi about this. Rumours are abuzz that in case Ravi doesn’t oblige, Ameer may again star in the lead role in ‘Kannabiran’! |
